Jill began fiddling at about seven years of age, but gave it up seven years later when it was not thought cool to be toting a violin case around. Many years later she discovered you could also play it in bands and for all sorts of dancing, and has been doing this for the last twenty-five years.

In the band she also plays mandolin, whistles, banjo and provides vocal harmonies.

Her favourite artistes are too many to mention, but Sandy Denny is her favourite female vocalist.

Her all-consuming passion is searching out traditional music from all different world cultures, particularly fiddle styles. Wildlife, languages, poetry and literature and are also favourite pass-times.

She hopes one day to be able to walk past a chocolate display without buying any.
